Actually, is the guy who just phoned us a paid employee? What percentage of our donation (we made one) will actually go to the cause, and what percentage goes to the phone solicitor?

I am fed up of calls from your (paid) fundraisers day after day - what are you thinking using such tactics!?

I want to take this time to thank the Victoria Fire Fighters Burn Fund for their financial aide. I have recently had a skin expander implanted in my right side to stretch and harvest enough skin to reconstruct my right hand which was damaged in a car crash when i was 18 y/o due to fire. I also do motivational speaking and own my own business called JMM Speaking inwhich the Victoria Fire Fighters Burn Fund is the major sponsor this year. Thank you yet again guys.

Hi guys - Great site. :)
Bill

Thank you for your work in supporting people in a time of crisis and need. In 1996 my family was in natural gas explosion, myself and my two children suffered burns, my son was injured the most with burns to 42% of his body. With kind words and regular visits to the burn unit at Royal Jubilee I learned that there was help available if we needed it. It has been several years since the incident, my son has recovered well with the use of jobst garments, skin grafts and lots of tender loving care of family, friends and community. Thank you for your care of people in such a specialized way. Cindy, Kaleena and Ray Young, Nanaimo, BC

A couple of months ago my son burned himself with boiling water and had to go into intensive care at RJH. This experience is like being in hell. So i just thought i would check out your site as you have helped me with my son's jobskins. Thank you very much.

The Firefighters Burn Fund Victoria, B.C. invite you all to read our website. If you require additional information on our Organization or fundraising, please call our office or leave an e-mail. We have just begun our Website and anticipate adding much needed information. Our mandates - "Prevention through Education" and "after the burning has stopped, the caring will continue" motivate our hard working Firefighters, Nurses and Health Care Professionals, in the countless off duty hours they dedicate to our cause. Recently we have met with some objections on how we run our organization. Some Firefighter's Associations have attempted a hostile take over. They feel that our Burn Fund should be run by the "Unions", due to the name. Wrong!! I'm a Firefighter and the founder of this organization. Some twenty years ago the option of assisting the cause for a Burn Fund was offered to the Unions by the late Dale Shatford and myself at a joint Union meeting. It was turned down due to the fact that we were raising money for MD and the powers to be at that time, thought that Victoria wasn't big enough to support two causes. Dale informed the group, with my blessings, that we were indeed going to persue this venture. We receive that groups o.k. to do what we wanted. The rest is history. Thanks for visiting our site and signing our GuestBook.
