Learn How Fire Forged a Mission to Heal and Inspire
The Burn House was started by the Firefighters Burn Fund Victoria, BC as a “Labour of Love” and officially opened its doors September 2, 1996. The Burn House was purchased entirely through the contributions from citizens of the Greater Victoria area.Since the House has limited space, priorities have been established:– Families of burn patients only.– Patients from out of town needing out-patient assessment or therapy immediately following discharge.– Patients from out of town requiring occupational therapy follow-up.

A Home Away From Home
What Will It Cost?
The Burn House is a vital part of the recovery journey for many burn survivors and their loved ones. Located in Victoria, it offers free, comfortable accommodation for spouses, family members, or significant others who must travel from outside the Greater Victoria area to support a loved one undergoing treatment.
We understand that being close to someone during their recovery can make all the difference — emotionally, mentally, and even physically. The Burn House ensures that families can stay nearby without the added financial burden of hotels or short-term rentals. It provides a quiet, welcoming environment where families can rest, regroup, and support each other during an incredibly challenging time.
Thanks to generous donations, there is no cost to stay at the Burn House, allowing families to focus on what matters most: healing and being together.
